Rocky Top Sports World to Honor Coach Pat Summitt

Rocky Top Sports World, managed by The Sports Facilities Management, will be honoring the late Pat Summitt, former University of Tennessee Women’s Head Basketball Coach, in a dedication ceremony on Sunday, June 10th, 2018 at 10:30 AM.

The complex invites the comm unity to join the family and friends of Pat, Ira and Kim Blumenthal of the Pat Summitt Leadership Group, and Sevier County Mayor Larry Waters, for the presentation of the newly installed memorial plaque and poster, located in the Rocky Top Sports World main lobby.

“My mom would be very humbled and deeply touched. Our family is grateful to Rocky Top Sports World for this tremendous honor,” commented Tyler Summitt, who will be in attendance on behalf of the Summitt family.

“This is a small way Rocky Top Sports World can pay tribute to the life, legacy and leadership of Pat, ” stated Rocky Top Sports World General Manager Lori Moore. “She transformed the landscape of women’s sports and it is important to share that with the thousands of athletes that pass through our doors.”
