Gatlinburg Celebrates Easter Weekend with a Schedule of Holiday-Related Events and gatherings.

Just in time for the season, Great Smoky Easter Arts and Crafts Show arrives to put a spring in shoppers’ steps with its annual celebration of craft. With paintings to leather work and everything in-between, those looking for unique items will find a myriad of well-made products and seasonal gifts created by members of Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community at this free-to-attend craft event. Located in the Gatlinburg Convention Center, artisans and craftsmen will be on hand to demonstrate their skills, answer questions and offer their one-of-a-kind pieces for sale from Wednesday through Saturday, April 17-20.

When the sun rises on Easter morning, a powerful 30-40 minute mountain service led by local pastors of the Gatlinburg Ministerial Association will take place at the Ober Gatlinburg Ski Area at 6:30 a.m. Host Ober Gatlinburg will provide guests with free tram rides to the mountain top beginning at 5:00 a.m. Complimentary parking at Ober Gatlinburg will be provided for those who prefer to drive up the mountain. In the event of inclement weather, the service will be held in the Ober Gatlinburg Upper Tramway Mall. A breakfast buffet will be available at Ober Gatlinburg’s Seasons of Ober Restaurant.

New this Easter season, Christ of the Smokies adds Women of the Bible to its series of twelve Easter scenes that portray the life and story of Jesus of Nazareth. Along with over 120 biblical figures in the series, Women of the Bible shares moving scenes of women who played a prominent part in the Bible and Easter story through dramatic lighting, special effects, narration and more.
